i also did the same for my blog URL which i'm going to tell you. First it was www.techntrickania.blogspot.com and now it is www.allworld.co.nr. ( Note : you will not find my free domian now , as i have deleted my account from there database.)

1: first of all you would have to search any website which provides free domain registration
i would suggest three of them as i know. following are those:
- WWW.CO.NR: I registered my domain name from here ,so i will suggest you as it is best one of them.
- www.biz.ly
- www.name.com
- www.dotfree.com : you will get your domain name like www.xyz.free from here.
2: Visit any one of them and sign up for a free account . If you want to spend money then you can also do that so as to get domain names like .com,.net,.org etc.
3: Keep this important step in mind as it will set your new domain name as permanent one -
switch on the URL masking facility from your domain regitration sute as it will hide your previous URL and will set the new one.
Attention: keep in mind that your old URL also will be valid i.e. you both new and old will work
for example : if u search www.xyz.blogspot.com it will open your blog and also if you u search www.xyz.co.nr will show your blog.
